SHROVE TUESDAY – 1,510 pancakes served!!
One pancake, two pancake, three pancake . . . 1,510 pancakes served (2 per student)! As Lent begins tomorrow, our School Council has maintained its tradition of cooking and serving pancakes to all students on the morning of Shrove Tuesday. We thank the many parent volunteers who made this day so successful! Our students were fed and smiling, and our kitchen was cleaned up by 10:45am.
Shrove Tuesday is a day of celebration as well as penitence, because it’s the last day before Lent. Lent is a time of abstinence, a time of going without indulgences so that we may prayerfully remember Jesus’ sacrifice. So Shrove Tuesday is the last chance to indulge yourself, and to use up the foods that aren’t allowed during Lent.
Thank you to those that supported our new eco-initiative and brought in their own reusable plate! Our Eco Team did a quick survey and over 91% of students used reusable plates! Way to go SJPII!
