One pancake, two pancake, three pancake . . . 1,530 pancakes served (2/student)! This enormous challenge was accepted and met by the wonderful volunteers in our SJPII community! Our students were fed and smiling, and our kitchen was cleaned up by 10:30am.
Shrove Tuesday is a day of celebration as well as penitence, because it’s the last day before Lent. Lent is a time of abstinence, a time of going without indulgences so that we may prayerfully remember Jesus’ sacrifice. So Shrove Tuesday is the last chance to indulge yourself, and to use up the foods that aren’t allowed in Lent.
As Lent begins tomorrow, our Catholic School Advisory Council has maintained its tradition of cooking and serving pancakes to all students on the morning on February 25 in celebration of Shrove Tuesday. We thank the many parent volunteers that made this day so successful!
Thank you to those that continued to support our eco-initiative and brought in their own reusable plate!
Well done SUNS!
