Good afternoon SUNS Families and Friends,

This second week of Advent is focused on the theme of PEACE. When we light the second candle on our Advent Wreath, we are invited to call to mind the many ways the PEACE of the Lord is with us always.  In times when conflict, power and the fight for control dominate our daily discussions, invite PEACE into your heart.  Speak kindly. Love deeply. Forgive easily. Share PEACE with those around you so that we might make our families, community and world a better place to live.

How will you share the PEACE of the Advent season this week?

Is there a place in your own heart where more PEACE is needed?

Angel Tree Campaign

Dear Saint John Paul II Families:

We are fast approaching Christmas and are about to celebrate the first Sunday of Advent.  The staff at Saint John Paul II as well as the St. Anthony Daniel Parish would like to invite all families to experience the true meaning of the season, by participating in the St. Vincent de Paul “Angel Tree Campaign” from Monday, November 25th until Friday, December 13th, 2019.

If you are not familiar with the Angel Tree, the idea is to purchase a Christmas gift for a child who would otherwise not receive one.  To make it meaningful for your child, we ask that they choose a gift a child their age would enjoy. All donations will be supporting families within our own community that would not otherwise be able to provide Christmas gifts for their children.

Once again, this year, the JK-Grade 8 classes will be participating in the Angel Tree Campaign.  Through this initiative, we hope to inspire the students to share the true meaning of Christmas – Jesus Christ – God’s Greatest Gift.

Once you have purchased a gift please return it to the school unwrapped.  Gifts will be picked up on Friday, December 13th, 2019, by St. Vincent de Paul volunteers who will then arrange for distribution to families in need on Saturday, December 14th.

We will be setting up a tree in the front foyer to create our “Angel Tree”.  Each child or family making a donation will place an angel on our tree and their gift under the tree. When the gift is brought in, your child will get the opportunity to decorate an angel at school for our tree. If you wish to participate in our Saint John Paul II “Angel Tree Campaign”, please send in a new, unwrapped gift or gift card by the morning of Friday, December 13th, 2019

Thank you for helping to show the giving community Saint John Paul is!”
