Angel Tree Campaign

Dear Saint John Paul II Families:

We are fast approaching Christmas and are about to celebrate the first Sunday of Advent.  The staff at Saint John Paul II as well as the St. Anthony Daniel Parish would like to invite all families to experience the true meaning of the season, by participating in the St. Vincent de Paul “Angel Tree Campaign” from Monday, November 25th until Friday, December 13th, 2019.

If you are not familiar with the Angel Tree, the idea is to purchase a Christmas gift for a child who would otherwise not receive one.  To make it meaningful for your child, we ask that they choose a gift a child their age would enjoy.  All donations will be supporting families within our own community that would not otherwise be able to provide Christmas gifts for their children.

Once again, this year, the JK-Grade 8 classes will be participating in the Angel Tree Campaign.  Through this initiative, we hope to inspire the students to share the true meaning of Christmas – Jesus Christ – God’s Greatest Gift.

Once you have purchased a gift please return it to the school unwrapped.  Gifts will be picked up on Friday, December 13th, 2019, by St. Vincent de Paul volunteers who will then arrange for distribution to families in need on Saturday, December 14th.

We will be setting up a tree in the front foyer to create our “Angel Tree”.  Each child or family making a donation will place an angel on our tree and their gift under the tree. When the gift is brought in, your child will get the opportunity to decorate an angel at school for our tree. If you wish to participate in our Saint John Paul II “Angel Tree Campaign”, please send in a new, unwrapped gift or gift card by the morning of Friday, December 13th, 2019.

Thank you for helping to show the giving community Saint John Paul is!”

Winter Coat Drive

Dear Kindergarten Families,

Winter is upon us again and it is time to take out all our winter gear to keep us warm. Unfortunately, there are families in our community that do not have the opportunity to properly dress themselves or their children for the harsh winter weather. To help our community with this problem the Kindergarten classes are acting as kindness ninjas and are holding a winter coat drive.

We are asking for washed, gently used infant and kids coats or snowsuits and adult winter coats. We will then distribute them to the Salvation Army Winter Coat Drive. We plan to have the students get involved with this initiative so they understand what acts of kindness look like and that everyone does not have a warm coat and it is important to help others in our community.

Thank you in advance for helping us with this important initiative and helping to keep others warm! Please have donations to your child’s classroom by November 29th.
