Good morning SUNS!

We just wanted to take a moment today to reflect on the wonderful experience that we had yesterday going to mass as a school community.  It was so great to see all of the time and effort, at a very busy time of the year, that the staff was willing to put in to ensure that our students have the opportunity to attend mass.  It takes a lot of organization to get 750 people to mass!

Walking into the church and seeing all of our students filling the seats, singing the songs and participating in the mass was so wonderful!  The students were very respectful of the space and of the experience that they were having.

Father Talbot shared some wonderful thoughts with us during his homily.  “You have received without payment, give without payment.”  We have truly received many gifts from God – our talents and abilities, the place that we get to live, work and learn, and a warm, loving and generous community around us to help guide us along the way.  There are so many gifts that we have received and it is our responsibility as Catholic Christian members of God’s world, to use them to make things better!  Such a great message from Father!

We were able to leave the church after hearing the beautiful song “City of God”, and what a song it was!  750 people who know the song, who were singing the song – some outloud, but EVERYONE in their heads for sure!  Led by our choir and Sarah from the Church, it was another amazing end to a wonderful experience!

We are back at it today, in our learning space working at wrapping up the year and focusing on “Finishing Strong”.  Such a great week so far at Saint John Paul II!

See you soon SUNS!
