Good afternoon Suns Community!

We are having a great first week at Saint John Paul II!  There is a lot going on and there are definitely challenges to overcome.  I am so glad to see so many routines already in place and everyone helping our community by following them.

One thing we do need to get a little better at is the number of parents coming onto the yard in the morning.  Please understand that we have staff outside supervising the children and we need your help!  Give your kids hugs and kisses.  Tell them you will miss them.  Wish them well for the day.   Please do all of this BEFORE you come onto the yard.  Drop them off and continue with your day.  Staff will be out there to remind you of this, but with your help and support, we will be able to make our yard much safer for everyone.

This applies to the end of the day as well.  Please wait for the children by the gate, on the parking lot side of the building, or better yet, on the sidewalk out front.  Please wait for your children by the rocks at the top of the hill.  Being on the blacktop, in the Sunshine garden on the turf, or right outside the backdoor is not necessary and not safe.  Please help us out with this.

Also, please know that parents who come to the school need to buzz in the front door.  We will let you in and we ask that you come to the office to check in with us.  This way, we will be able to control who is in the building and make sure that you get what you need in a timely manner.  If you are picking students up early, we need you to wait in the foyer and not wander into the halls.

Once again, thank you all for your support and cooperation as we all get used to a new year, a new flow in the building, and as we get back into the regular swing of things.

Take care Suns!
